 Dear Friends:
It is my pleasure to greet you and introduce you to Temple Emanu-El. We are blessed to have a very welcoming congregation that invites all to join with us in worship, in learning and in being part of our community.
In addition to a variety of worship options for all ages, we offer a range of programming within a traditional, egalitarian Conservative framework. Our Sisterhood, Men's Club and Social Action committees arrange many opportunities for socializing, studying and doing tzedakah. For young families we have a child friendly Tot Shabbat program. Older children will benefit from the depth of curriculum and extracurricular activities offered in our Religious School and Youth Programs. Those interested in more serious study will appreciate the programs presented by our spiritual leader, Rabbi David-Seth Kirshner as well as the Adult Education committee (e.g., Scholar in Residence, Hebrew reading and Seminary Shabbat to name a few programs). Hazzan Israel Singer enhances our services with his beautiful voice. He also conducts bar and bat mitzvah tutoring and teaches classes for all ages. The shul's close affiliation with the Jewish Theological Seminary enables us to benefit from all that this world class institution of Jewish learning has to offer.
We are also fortunate to be able to offer our congregants the services of our exclusive, in-house caterer, Northern Valley Affairs. Under the direction of Les Friedman, Northern Valley Affairs personally plans the simchas and special events of our congregants.
Our professional staff and volunteer leadership are dedicated to making your membership at Temple Emanu-El one that is meaningful and satisfying to you and your family. To accomplish this Rabbi Kirshner, Cantor Singer, Religious School Director, Jennifer Levine, Youth and Family Programs Director/B'nai Mitzvah Coordinator, Tammy Ween and I work closely with the Officers and Directors of the synagogue to meet the needs of our congregants. In closing, I would like to encourage you to join us as together we joyfully participate in our active, Jewish lives!
